What is a Trip Leader?
A trip leader is a student who works closely with Encountour and their Campus Representative to organize a volunteer or adventure trip from their college. A trip leader has two primary responsibilities:
1) Recruiting other students on campus to join his/her group.
2) Acting as a leader on the trip.
Responsibilities of a Trip Leader
Raising Awareness on Campus:
•We will work with you to develop a comprehensive action plan to encourage students to join your trip.
•We will provide you with informational materials such as brochures, flyers, and template emails, to help you raise awareness and garner the campus interest that you need to make this trip a reality.
•And we will be in close contact to make sure that you are getting all the support that you need to assemble a solid group.
Leading the Trip:
•When break roles around, you will be leading the trip with the close support of Encountour staff.
•We’ll take care of all of the logistics, so that basically everything on the ground in Guatemala will be setup ahead of time.
•The student trip leader will work with their dedicated in-country Group Coordinator to help organize the group during all structured activities, and will help ensure a positive group dynamic while guiding the group during recreation.
